You might want to read the following by Betty Dodson, Ph.D.
"Many women face the absence of visual and practical information about their sex organs — a terrible handicap. In 1998 when my website went up, I [decided] never again would another woman think there was something wrong with her sex organ for lack of positive imagery. When young women saw images of porn stars, they became insecure with the appearance of their own genitals. Similar to Hollywood starlets, most women in the adult industry undergo cosmetic surgery. They get nose jobs, breast implants, liposuction, and [their genital] extended inner lips are removed to achieve 'the clamshell look,' reminiscent of a pre-pubescent girl. Even the anus is bleached and dyed pink. Insecure and uniformed young women wanted a similar look so a booming new industry was born; laser vaginal plastic surgery. To counter this unnecessary and sometimes dangerous cosmetic surgery, my Genital Art Gallery became a research project where both women and men could share and appreciate the vast diversity of our sex organs."
Which is how Betty Dodson wound up with an online gallery of pencil drawings of genitals. It was very significant because it showed real vaginas and how different they all were, and it really helped to defuse young women's worries that their lady parts might be "wrong."
Unfortunately, Dr. Dodson finally had to take down her gallery because rules intended to regulate the porn industry also accidentally covered educational sites. She wanted the people who modeled for the drawings to remain anonymous, and the rules said she needed to provide a copy of the driver's license of every model. So that was it.
However, a few of the drawings are still out there. Here is a website that posts some of them. I added spaces between the words and letters so the software would not kick out the address, you'll have to block and copy and take the spaces out again. scarleteen . com / resource / advice / betty _ dodsons _ vulva _ illustrations If you look them up, you'll see that vaginas come in all shapes and sizes and amounts of fluffiness and even with black edges. No worries.
