Longer period/two periods in one month for last four months

I'm sorry this is a bit long.

I quit birth control in February. For the first two months, my period was normal. Then in May, I experienced some bad cramps on the second day. My period only lasted five days, which was about the length from when I was on bc. Then in June, I had my period from June 17-June 20. For one day, there was nothing. Then on June 22, I had my period again for another 5 days (2 days normal flow, 3 days light/very light). Also, my forehead started breaking out. I am not sure if this is due to the heat or hormones.

In July, my period was normal-ish. It lasted for 6 days.
August, I started spotting (not sure if that counts as the start of my period-I usually counted this as just a warning sign that I was about to start) on the 14th and then had my period from Aug. 15-22 (8 days).
This month, I started spotting on Sept. 12 and then my period went from Sept 13-15. On the 16th, nothing happened. Then on the 17th, I started having brown discharge that eventually turned bright red on the 18th and has been going on  for two days now. I even have been experiencing mild cramps. It's almost like I'm having two periods. :/

I won't be able to see my doctor for another month, so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this. Is this normal? Could getting off of bc cause this so late (almost 3 months after quitting bc)? Any idea what could be causing the irregularities? Thanks in advance for any input!

Thanks for you comment! To ease my mind, I made a trip to the city and just got back from visiting my gynecologist today. I explained my symptoms to her and she decided to do a transvaginal ultrasound along with my pap. She didn't see anything wrong with the ultrasound. However, she did note that I have cervical erosion; she didn't seem too concerned by this. She said that could be the cause for the bleeding. Could that cause my periods to be longer? She didn't explain this to me very well. I think also because I am in Korea and there is a language barrier. So now I have a very long week of waiting with my fingers crossed to hear back for my pap results. I will keep you posted.

Hello,
Such vaginal discharge is most often associated with old endometrial tissues. In other words, if your period is late you might get a brown, rather than red, discharge. It could also mean that for whatever reason during your last menses the entire uterine lining failed to make a timely exit. In some cases however there is cause for concern like  cervical cancer, pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID), menopause, or sexually transmitted diseases like gonorrhea and  Chlamydia .You should consult a gynecologist who will physically examine the local area and may consider tests.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
