Very early 'one day only' period...

Hello, I am a 21F and have a few questions. On Sunday January 1 when I woke up I had consistent pain in my left hip and thigh. It wasn't unbearable, more so just uncomfortable. It was very uncomfortable to lay down. This continued for a few days until maybe two or three days ago the pain in my leg disappeared and I experienced abdominal cramps. Yesterday, however, I experience what I thought to be my period. It wasn't due until the 18 of January. There were large and small clots (when I went to the bathroom) mid day. However, when I woke up this morning everything just stopped. There was no blood and it seems as though my period is no longer here. A little background, I am in a long term relationship and we do not use protection. BUT I for sure was not pregnant as I had a period the previous month. I am not sure what is going on or if I need to immediately visit a doctor or not. I am just trying to get an idea of what is wrong and if there are any ways to fix it.

Hello.  I know it can all be confusing sometimes to figure out!  Hard to say---  really.  I am thinking it is going to be fine  You could have passed a simple cyst which I have done once---  thought I was having a horrible period with severe cramping and excessive bleeding.  My doctor says that women do pass cysts this way occasionally and it is not a serious thing. It's not uncommon to have a simple cyst.  I would see what happens next---  if you get a normal period next cycle or not.  And at your next visit, you can mention this occurrence.  If you do not have a regular period or a repeat of these symptoms, go ahead and call your doctor.  This is not ER worthy in my opinion.  But you, of course, are the best judge of that.  Now, you don't use protection so risk pregnancy.  Some women do bleed during early pregnancy----  so, you may want to buy a cheap p test just to make sure.  good luck hon and am glad you are feeling better!

Thank you! I don't think it could have been pregnancy because I was pregnant before (while on bc with an ex) so I do know how my body reacts to it. Not to mention the clotting was too much for it to have been a pregnancy. I originally thought the pain was a cyst so I do believe this could be it (i didnt know cysts were passed this way). Also, should I be expecting a period this month? Or expect one next month? Thank you so much!
I did get a period on schedule after I passed my cyst but hormones are so finicky.  So, I'm not sure what will happen with yours.  Isn't being a woman great, lol?  Hopefully everything is on track from here on out for you.  good luck
