No period but not pregnant

I am 28 years old and got off the pill to try to get pregnant with my husband.  I got off of it in December of last year and got my period for the first two months (1st month it was a couple of days late and then the 2nd month it was a week late but I did get them) and after the first two months I have not had a period.  I have taken pregnancy tests and all are negative.  I was on the pill for about 8-9 years and I was on the shot for 2 years before that.  Before I got on the shot or the pill my period was every other month.  Does anyone know what could be wrong or if I should just go into the doctors?  We would really like to get pregnant soon does anyone have any suggestions that I can do to help that?  As long as I do not have my period I can't get pregnant is that true?  Any help would be greatful.  Thank you in advance.

I was on birth control for two years. When I stopped taking them I didn't get a period. My doctors kept checking and told me my body hasn't gotten back to making the right amount of hormones to function right. There is a diagnoses called Amenorreah. It is where you do not have a period and develope facial hair. Go to your doctor and talk to them about possibly having it. It could be that or your thyroid levels are not right.

I have heard that there are 2 types of medication to made you ovulate or something but I will double check.  I am going to the doctor today to talk about it and I will let everyone know what she says.

I haven't had a period for 11 weeks now. I went off of alesse 21(or whatever its called) and got one period about five days later, then i had one 31 days later, and maybe one other period, and now nothing. The problem i'm having is (other than a lack of a period) i started having unprotected sex exactly when i was ovulating and have not had a period since. Pregnancy tests have been negative, except for one five days ago, which was faint positive. then my 2 next tests were negative. Today i'm feeling nauseous and had some diarrhea (sorry, tmi!) and i'm retesting tomorrow. I"m not sure if there is a treatment for not ovulating...im pretty sure there are drugs that can make you ovulate though.

anytime you don't have a period for more then 3 months you should go to the Dr. They can give you something to start your period and/or find out what's going on. If you're not having your period it probably means your not ovualting which means you can't get pregnant
