Nuva Ring and Varicose Veins?

I've been on the Nuva Ring for almost two and a half years. My whole family is very fair-skinned, so I've always had very visible veins my whole life. However, it wasn't until I began the Ring that I noticed my first varicose veins on my right calf. I didn't see the connection at the time, but now it's two years later and the same leg is in so much pain almost regularly, and I'm almost positive it is because of the Ring.

In addition, the rest of the veins on my legs and abdomen are much more pronounced, and while it may or may not be related - I've been having minor hemroids recently. I'm am only 23 years old and am a non-smoker - so I am considered a "good" candidate for birth control. I'm not sure why this is happening, and I wish I had seen the connection between the Nuva Ring and my very embarrassing varicose veins earlier - I would have stopped the Ring a long time ago.

Has anyone else had issues like these? I know now that the Ring might "aggravate varicose veins" but I didn't think it would affect me - I thought those warnings were for older women who were heavy smokers and had a history of blood clots, etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations...homeopathic or otherwise?

There are many factors that need to be considered when trying to figure out the reason for more defined veins.  Luckily, the appearance of such varicose veins can be greatly reduced with the right treatment.

Yes, I am experiencing similar problems!  I am a 23 years old with a history of vericose veins in my family...mine were always noticable but they have gotten MUCH worse in the past year since I have been on the ring.  I did not realize it was due to the ring until about a month ago when I went to get my veins injected...the doctor told me that they were most likely getting worse due to the birth control and now I can not get rid of them.  I am also a non-smoker, very active, and not overweight,  I am convinced it is all due to the ring.

Yes I've been experiencing hemorrhoids since nuva ring, and I've been looking up side effects of nuva ring in a pharmacology book at the university I go to and Hemorrhoids are listed as a side effect. I've also been not sleeping, and I just attributed it to my stress level with school, i'm 26 previous body builder, and I went on the Nuva ring and have since gained 80 pounds it was insane and threw me into such a state of depression which just isn't and wasn't me...I"m a conquor the world kinda gal....I was doing a research project on a drug for My organic chem class and stumbled accross all this info on Nuva ring and It just blew me away...I' m going to stop it here this week. My sister is a Master Herbalist and makes a Suppository for Hemmorrhids which is herbal and she's had great sucess with...I'm in the process of starting it myself...cuz like you i'm 26, have been an excercise maniac my whole life but do to endometeriosis i've been on this birth control rollecoaster ride...I'm trying to get Norrdette...I use to be on it in the USA but moved to canada and they didn't have it so I had to go on Nuva Ring, but i'm trying to see what I can do to get back to Norrdette. Have you experienced headaches on Nuva Ring as well???
