Thank you so very much, yes i just had a doctors appt and is schedule for an ultrasound very soon, I had a pap smear done during my last visit and my blood was drawn, I was also placed on birth control to regulate my menstrual flow. I havent yet started on the birth control yet because I was waitin to see how my period does this month, as it turns out its really slow and very light. I have been keepin track on the progress as of yesterday. Once again thanks alot for the info and yes I will keep you posted as to what changes i do see once i start on the birth control and after my ultrasound. ps. i have not heard of any problems relating to my pap smear as of yet.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This can be due to metromenorrhagia or dysfunction uterine bleeding and hormonal imbalance can be one of the causes of menorrhagia. Sometimes it is associated with polymenorrhea(Frequent flow, cycles of ≤21 days)Causes of menorrhagia are Hypothyroidism, Endometrial proliferation or hyperplasia like ovarian tumor and polycystic ovarian disease, endometrial polyps and neoplasia, endometriosis, fibroids and uterine sarcomas.

In my opinion you need to get your pelvic examination done from your gynecologist along with investigations like complete blood count, thyroid function tests,PAP smear and ultrasound uterus.Once cause of menorrhagia is identified, treatment can be planned.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
