Could this be my period?

I haven't had a period in about 2 years as I was pregnant and I have been breastfeeding. I have been very crampy the past few weeks and then over the weekend I started bleeding. I did have to have a transvaginal ultrasound done due to pelvic pain and the bleeding started directly after that. It was more of a light spotting though. I have no idea if I could just be bleeding from the procedure or if it's my period coming back. It seems that I only bleed a normal amount in the morning and then just barely spot the rest of the day.

I'm inclined to think it is from the procedure to be honest given it didn't last and wasn't really like a period.  I breast fed my second son for a long time.  I was almost at the point of explaining to him and having a conversation for why we weren't going to have 'mommy milk' anymore.  ha ha.  He was my last baby and it was kind of emotional for me too and had become so easy and just part of the day that weaning was hard.  My friends had better success than I did.  They started by eliminating certain feedings such as any during the day.  Then they were only doing night time and morning.  Then they chose one to go.  Did that.  And then the last feeding.  How old is your little one?

Hm, that is definitely a good question!  I had two babies really back to back as they are 15 months apart in age and breast fed one, stopped when I found out I was pregnant and then breastfed the other for a 'long' time (forever it felt like, ha ha).  Anyway, I also did not have a period for over two plus years.  While it was kind of great . . . it was kind of weird.  Mine pretty much started as spotting and then I was back to a regular monthly thing.  The ultrasound though could have prompted the bleeding if it touched your cervix for example which can be quite vascular.  How many days did you bleed?  Just one?  That is hard to believe a period.  What does your doctor say regarding your hormones and getting you back up and running?
What did the ultrasound reveal?

are you done breastfeeding your little one?  Have you weaned them?

I bled for 3 days after the procedure. It was only in the morning though and then I would have a little spotting throughout the day. I am still waiting on my results from the ultrasound. I am currently still breastfeeding... hoping to wean her soon. ( Fingers crossed)
