Plan B

What is your opinion about taking Plan B to induce a period?  I am over 3 months late but am 100% sure that I am not pregnant.  I have heard that women have used this before if their periods are irregular but I don't want to do it if it will be dangerous.

Dont take plan b...I took it to prevent pregnancy and it failed and now I'm 3weeks pregnant and its probably ectopic...they don't tell u that one side effect is it gives u 10times more of a chance to have an ectopic if it fails..which I'm learning is very dangerous and I will prob have to have surgery...it makes u more fertile after 72 hr window...so don't take it....so do birth control pills to regulate..hope this helps

By the way, I had issues with extremely long cycles for about a year.  They were every 3 to 4 months!!  What a pain that was.  But it was because my thyroid was working slowly called hypothyroidism.  You probably need to find out why your having such long cycles as there is often an underlying cause.  good luck

Oh, I honestly wouldn't use Plan B in this manner unless directed by a doctor.  Because actually, Plan B is a hefty dose of hormones that you are putting into your system (how it terminates a pregnancy) and that in itself can make your period even more irregular for a while.  Questions on the woman's health forum ALL the time about odd and irregular periods and bleeding after Plan B.  It probably wouldn't be a method a doctor would take for you.

Agree that birth control gets you into a cycle of bleeding once a month and being regular.

good luck

Than if your periods are irregular you just have to wait for your cycle to begin on its own naturally. Plan b is meant to be taken right after having unprotected sex to reduce the chances of getting pregnant. It's the morning after pill. Talk to your doctor so he or she can help you with your concern.
