Vaginal tightness

I'm 18 have have been sexually active for almost a year now. In January I started taking the pill, as well as started having unprotected sex; still using other contraceptive methods. Shorting after I started having a sharp, intolerable pain during intercourse. After a while we realized if we went slow and 'stretched out' we could have enjoyable sex however every single time it is painful at the beginning. I've done a lot of research and I haven't found it as a symptom linked with either STI's or the pill. Does anyone have any information or tips?

Hi there.  Sorry to hear about this discomfort.  Thins I've read have indicated that this could be psychological.  If you had any traumatic sexual experience or just are not relaxed, something emotionally getting in the way, this can happen.  Therapy could help.  I would talk about this with your doctor.  good luck
