sister's bad odor

hi all,
my little sis has a really bad odor. i find it pretty unbearable and would love to help her. i have told her about it on several occassions but it never gets better. she would have a bath now and then, poof!! it's back in half an hour to an hour. To be honest its not coming from her armprit. whenever she wears skirt and open her legs, the smell gets really high. Her room is small and once u enter that bad odor just hits u. Can any tell me what could be happening as well as which type of doctor is the best to see her and what treatment i could explore. I really dont want her using counter products because they can cause more harm than good. i really want to help her but i would like to hear yall suggestion.
thanks.

Be sure she takes her full prescription (not stopping if the symptoms go away), BV can be stubborn.  Don't forget if she is in a sexual relationship the partner should get a prescription too.  Glad she got diagnosed.

It does sound like BV.  It isn't dangerous by itself, but left untreated, it can cause pelvic inflammatory disease, and THAT can lead to scarring that causes infertility.  So, the long-term effects of leaving it untreated, can be dangerous.  She needs to see the ob-gyn and get swabbed to check for BV, and if that is what it is, she will get prescribed a full round of antibiotics and needs to take them until they are gone even if she doesn't have her symptoms after a while.  If she has a sexual partner, my doctor says the partner should be treated at the same time so he won't pass the bacteria back.  I've seen someone write on this forum that the man can't carry BV, but that person was not a doctor, and in that position I would feel it is better be safe than sorry on that issue.

It sounds live bv.  Bacterial vagnosis.  Either a sexuel health clinic can do tests even though it isnt sexuely transmitted or her gp.  It smells fishy and strong.  Best to get it checked out. It isn't dangerous.  Hope this helps you
