Unsure if I'm self diagnosing right....

So I'm 18 with my second yeast infection. This time it started out as pain urinating and a few days later turned into a YI. I'm on vacation in Illinois and will be gone for another two weeks. Since I'm no where near my gyn, I have no choice but to self diagnose and self treat. I've been drinking cranberry juice and am now avoiding sugar and about to pick up yogurt. The only medication I bought is Monostat itch cream which is helping. This morning, urinating was pretty painful. Does any of this sound right?

Sounds like you might have both a yeast and a bladder infection. I'm in my 30's and I've had both at the same time twice in my life, but they are easy to get rid of. Be careful about hygiene especially during bathroom 'events'. I also would not use tampons as they can easily harbor bacteria. However, you need some pills from a doc to cure the urinary tract infection, no big deal, probably! Hopefully!

My first YI ended with a serious case that I treated myself and an allergic reaction to Vagisil. I'm scared that my newest case is a UTI.
