Vestibulitis

So I finally got to see the doctor the other day for a condition I had been struggling with. I thought I had vaginismus as that's where everything pointed me. Turns out that it's not my muscles, more so a nervous reaction.

I was wondering if there's any women on here that have over come this or are slowly getting better. I have started treatment of lydocaine cream, physio therapy, and minor anti-anxiety medications, but I am still nervous that this isn't going to get better. I have been suffering with this for 10 months.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Vestiulitis is vulvodynia localized to the vulvar region. Treatment consists of topical medications (i.e. cromolyn, lidocaine, estrogen, capsaicin), anti-depressant medication (i.e. amitriptylin, amoxapine, clomipramine, imipramine), cognitive-behavioral therapy, biofeedback, vestibulectomy (surgery), laser surgery and Botox injections.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
