Hi,
Sometimes Depo-Provera injections can cause side effects that mimic pregnancy, such as: nausea, fatigue, breast tenderness, headaches, etc... I once had the same experience that you've described while I was on Depo. I was convinced that I was pregnant, so I went to my doctors office to take a blood test to get a more accurate answer (hpt's all said negative). It turned out that it was the Depo causing these symptoms. Unless you've already done so, I would suggest speaking with your doctor/gynecologist about how you're feeling and ask about what they advise... The reason why Depo is so effective is because not only does it alter the lining of the uterus to prevent pregnancy, but it also stops the release of mature eggs from the ovaries. Which ultimately means there are no eggs in the fallopian tubes that can become fertilized by sperm. Depo's effectiveness usually wears off after 3 months, but it has the potential to stay in your body for up to a year after the last injection. After stopping Depo, menstrual cycles often are irregular or non-existent for a few months afterward. That's why some women find it hard to become pregnant during the first year after stopping injections... So, if you continue to feel weird pregnancy symptoms make an appointment with your doctor(s) just to be on the safe side. Take Care :)
