ovarian cysts after removal of Mirena

I had the Mirena in for 3 1/2 years and had it removed a month ago because my husband and I are ready for another baby.  I had absolutely NO problems with it in, not an inkling of what so many are talking about.  My only  problem is NOW.  I started my first period after removal on Aug 21, it lasted 6 days.  I didn't have any cramping when I started or anything, but 4 days into it I did and they were a little worse than I had ever experienced before and nothing seemed to help them, but they were gone when I woke up the next morning.  Last Monday I started having some cramping again and within an hour I was hurting so bad I couldn't stand up.  I was fixing dinner for my kids and couldn't sit down to eat with them.  Within an hour I was calling my mother in law to come get the kids and telling my husband to meet me at the hospital.  Ended up in the hospital until Wednesday because of cysts on my right ovary.  I've never had cysts before.  It was the most horrible, excruciating pain I've ever experienced.  Evidently, one burst and I still have 2.  Has this been an issue for anyone else AFTER having Mirena removed?

I had 0 issues I got the marina put in. I could barley walk out of the Drs office after they put it in it hurt so bad. I seen my Dr multiple times he didn't even seem to care. I bled for 6 weeks straight constantly in pain. Then I didn't have a period for about 3 months. All of a sudden I started bleeding so heavy. I could move it hurt so bad I went to the er, found out I had a bunch of cyst on my ovaries. I decided to go to a new on ob. I told him I wanted out I was so tired of constantly being in pain. He removed it. The issues persisted he did blood tests and they weren't normal so I had to have the "wand" ultrasound. I was diagnosed with pcos. I had never had any issues before that. I regret my decision every day. I hate that it did this to me. Really wish I could sue, I feel like the marina ruined my dreams of having a family.

I actually had the Mirena for the whole 5 years.  It was removed a year and a half ago and I was just diagnosed with PCOS today.  Comparing myself pre-Mirena to post-Mirena, nothing before I got the IUD shows that I had any symptoms of PCOS ever.  Since I had it and subsequently removed it, I have facial hair, absolutely NO cramping, irregular and extremely light periods, and had a transvaginal ultrasound today which showed several cysts in both ovaries.  I am also wondering if what I have is truly PCOS due to absent symptoms and the symptoms I DO have only showing up AFTER several years with the Mirena.  I didn't have a period for 5 years either and since it was removed, it's been very irregular, short, and light.
