Yeast infection again???

I had a yeast infection in the beginning of september and my woohoo is kind of sore like it was then. What are some things that cause yeast infections and what can I do to keep them away? Also, Im ttc and am over a week late (so possibly pregnant) will it harm the baby if Im pregnant and slow down the conception process? (obviously if I know I have a yeast infection I wont be having sex but are there after effects of it and conception?)

Ive been going nuts with the sweets this week! Cinnamon buns, pies.... chocolate an fudge. It seems to be ok. Could have been what I thought it was last time and just be from sex. Thanks all I will keep this in mind if it happens to be a yeast infection.

Natural medicine goes a step further at killing the Candidas infection.  Men can get thrush, too.  My friend's husband had to go on a very restrictive diet in order to not take in anything that would feed the yeast.  He hated it, but once the infection was gone, he was able to resume his regular diet.  Natural medicine focuses on getting to the source of the problem.

I would recommend seeing a naturopath in addition to making sure you go back to see your regular doctor.  What the previous post recommended is right, too.  It's just natural medicine goes a bit further.  There are some useful herbs that can be used, too, but for them to be most effective, you have to be on the restrictive diet that a naturopath would recommend.  It doesn't have to be a trade off of seeing one kind of doctor over the other or pitting conventional against natural.  Combining the two is called Integrative Medicine.  It uses the best of both worlds and fits them to what works best for the patient.

If you're pregnant or nursing there will be limitations to what you can do even with natural medicine.  A good naturopath will recognize such limitations and will make recommendations accordingly, including waiting to treat, if necessary.  If you are pregnant, you could try using some food grade aloe vera gel that has been cooled in the refrigerator.  Apply with gentle pats.  Do this while at home.  After applying, let yourself air dry in the cool open air.  This will at least treat the redness and burning without harming yourself or the baby.  Then, when your doctor says it's alright to treat it, you can.

Some women are just more prone to yeast infections.  It can also be due to hormones.

It's unlikely to have an impact on conception.

Also if you treated last month you may not have cleared the infection completely and it's flared up.

If you are pregnant you probably want to use a topical treatment rather than a tablet.

Ways to avoid thrush include wearing cotton underwear and limiting sweet foods.  Also taking a probiotic can help.
