Make an appointment to see your doctor urgently.
Although fresh blood could be from external or internal haemorrhoids, this is not necessarily the case.
If you have had constipation at all and may be you are still struggling to empty your bowels by trying to force things out, it is highly likely that you may now have a fissure.
The doctor will look up the back passage and will be able to see if it is haemorrhoids or if in fact you do have a fissure.
If he suspects there is a problem high up the anal canal, he will refer you to a specialist.
The doctor will then prescribe a solution for you to mix and drink to soften your stools if this you are struggling, a pessary to insert into the anal canal and also a cream to apply to the outside and the inner rim of the anal canal.
Fissures need treating quickly so that they do not get to the point that you need to have it surgically repaired. A fissure is a tear in the anal passage due to straining and bacteria can enter through the tear and cause infections. So do get yourself seen to pronto. The quicker you get seen the sooner things will get sorted out.
Le me know how you get on.
Best wishes.
You are correct, specialmom. Good comment. Red blood is characteristic of hemorhorrhoids, and black blood means bleeding further up in the intestinat tract.
My doctor has always told me that red blood is hemorrhoids (new blood) but black blood mixed in stool means that bleeding is going higher up and is more of a concern.
I would, even though it is bright red, make an appointment with your doctor to be seen soon. god luck
This is most likely hemorrhoids. The loss of blood each time isn't that much (it looks like a lot), but over time you can seriously deplete your red blood cell count. As suggested you require an in-person evaluation. There are several treatment options. Years ago there was only surgery, but now there is freezing and lasers. Get it looked at as soon as possible.
The symptoms you describe could indicate a potentially serious health matter for you, and we would urge you to seek medical attention immediately.
You should get checked ASAP that ain't good at all
