periods and copper iud

I have had the copper iud for a little over a year now.I had it inserted in October 2007 and everything was great until the beginning of this year. I had a normal period in December and in January I had no period at all. Then in February I had a normal period again and now March is almost over and still no period. I have been looking online for an answer but it seems that women with a copper iud aren't having this problem, only the ones with mirana. (idk how to spell it) Also, I have been experiencing a lack of sex drive since the iud has been inserted. I am going to get married in May and my fiancee is not liking this at all!LOL!!! I really would like to know if there is anyone out there that knows what may be going on with me. I am 25 years old and I have 2 children. I chose the iud because I don't want anymore children...so i think but tying my tubes was a little bit too permanent for me being the age that i am. I have taken pregnancy tests and they are coming back negative so.....now i am real confused! please help!

Hi, I have been having the same exact problems. I have a Pregna CopperT for one year, was placed October 2007 (maybe this was a bad month). Every was okay up until January 2009. In Jan it was very light, Feb was very painful, March was absent with teribble cramps, April was ok, went missing in May and was very heavy in June. I could have set a clock with my period now I just pray that it would come when I am at home and not out. It is really frustrating. I have considered removing but not ready for another child. Sex is now forced. Somethimes I have to fool my hubby saying I feel sick and before it was great. Also feeling very tired. Dont know what to do as my gyno said everything is ok. Any advice?

Hi ya ladies

I did a pregnancy test this weekend and it was negative but still today my period has not shown any signs. I am a bit worried about it not showing as i am normally always on time, this is my first time ever that i missed a period and not being preggie. I am going to wait for the nest month and if it still doesn't show i am definitly going to the doc to find out if everything is ok.
A bit worried. So it seems i am in the same boat as u Amanda.
Send me news on how u r doing.
God Bless

I have a "NOVAT380" which is a copper iud as well. Also put in in October last year. The thing is all went well until now. i had regular periods going up to being late about 2 weeks lately but it's now 25 days late. i haven't done a pregnancy test yet, quite scared too actually. But i know i have to. The thing is i only have one child and i would like to have another but not now really. Anyways, i feel very confused! What do u think i should do?
With the IUD i got more active with my sex drive but i think it depends on each person.
I would seek up from the health care if i was u, to see what's best for u.
Best wishes
