12 months ago I moved to a new house and within days developed a scaly growth on the soles of my feet and the palms of  my hands. It is very hard to keep them moist and they crack which is very painful. Went to doctor and then to dematologist who says it is psoriasis, had light therapy, taken prednislone tabs, methotrexate tabs, neotigason tabs, creams and ointments such as diprosone, daivobet 50/500 ointment. I have been hospitalised twice when really painful. In desperation I have used a Scholl grinding tool to take the hard dead skin off but it just keeps growing back. I can't walk unless I wear wet socks. I have fitted a full in house water filtration system thinking it was caused by desalinated water, to no avail, I'm at the end of my tether, can anyone help me please. Trevor

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There are many treatment options for psoriasis, chief ones being cognitive behavior therapy, creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone, fluocinonide, vitamin D3 analogues and retinoids and phototherapy and photochemotherapy. Psoriasis that is resistant to topical treatment and phototherapy is treated by medications that are taken internally by pill or injection. The three main traditional systemic treatments are methotrexate, cyclosporine and retinoids.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
