worried something's wrong

My tubes have been cut and burned, I recently found out that I have a uterine polyp. I have been having my period two to three times a month for the last 6 months, but now I am over a month late. Could I be pregnant?

Thank you both for the info I have actually already made a follow up appointment with my gynecologist. I'm almost positive I will have some sort of surgery to fix the problem. I didn't think it could be a pregnancy but you can never be too careful you always hear about those one in a million cases. But again I thank you for your insight it was very helpful.

I had a uterine polyp and even though it started out as bleeding inbetween periods it over time got to the point I was bleeding almost constantly.   They'll do a hysteroscopy.  You'll insert a cytotec (sorry for tmi) inside your vagina the night before surgery..you'll go in and mine was under general anethesia because I had a laparoscopy also for endometriosis, but they'll go inside your vagina, through the cervix and into the uterus to remove it.  The cytotec will help the cervix open so they can insert their hysteroscope better.  The cytotec made me cramp really bad but I guess that's from my cervix opening.  Anyways, there's nothing to it really.. and I had this done almost 3 years ago and haven't had any bleeding since then.  I wish you the best!! and hope this helps!!  If you have anymore questions about this please feel free to ask.  :)

As your tubes have been cut and burned then it is unlikely that an egg has been released to enable you to get pregnant.

It is not normal to have a period two to three times a month.  As you have being have these type of bleeds for the last 6 months it is very likely that you are anaemic.

It is also likely that the uterine polyp has something to do with the bleeds and them stopping.

I would advise you to see your doctor regarding this.  I don't know what they do about uterine polyps, but your doctor will be able to discuss that with you.  You should also have a blood test taken to check to see if you are anaemic.  Anaemia can cause erratic as well as cessation of bleeds.

Hope you get on OK.

Best wishes.
