Report this to the safety person at work immediately, and to HR. you may have a workman's comp claim. The longer you wait the harder it may be to prove cause and effect.
I don't think you could get Hep C this way, but Hep A is possible.
I agree with the above. This could be a Workman's Comp case.
Did you tell your doctor about the sewage exposure? I would think the doctor would run some tests on you. I would definitely be sure the doc knows about the sewage exposure and at some point you should be tested for Hepatitis.
Hi there are many things to worry about and a doctor could advise you best. While I do not think you can get Hep C, my niece was exposed to raw sewage in another room and contracted meningitis and I agree with the above comments though many employers would try to hide that sort of thing. Someone I know was exposed and got shingles, that may have been from the stress of no one helping her I don't know
Good Luck to you
FROM 2009 JAN TO JULY .A FLEET MECHANIC WITH A CLASS A WITH ALL ENDORSEMENTS.HAD TO LOAD FROM A SEWAGE PLANT AND UNLOAD IN A SEWAGE MANWHOLE. THE HOSES WOULD BREAK AT TIMES AND WOULD BE COVERD IN RAW SEWAGE AND AT REMOTE SIGHTS COULD NOT WASH UP UNTIL I ARRIVED AT THE PLANT.WELL I ENDED UP WITH RASHES ON SKIN AND MUSCLE AND JOINT PAIN COULD NOT MOVE.ENDED UP IN A HOSTIPAL WAS ADMITTED WITH HIGH LIVER COUNTS.WELL AFTER A LOT OF TEST AND MONTHS OF DOCTORS I WAS DIAGNOSED WTH A INMMUNE DISEASE.AT THE TIME DOCTORS SAID IT WAS FROM A CANCER SOURCE.3 YEARS LATER NO CANCER BUT STILL HAVE INMMUNEDISEASE.WELL MY JOB SENT ME TO WORKMANS COMP CLAIM THAT THEY DENIED, DOCTORS WONT SAY THAT RAWSEWAGE DID THIS BUT THEY WILL SAY THAT VIRUSSES AND CHEMICALS CAN. LAST TIME I READ ABOUT RAW SEWAGE IT IS IN THERE. KEEP IN MIND THAT NOW CANT WORK,NO MORE HEALTH INS. THANKS TO THE V.A. HOSTIPAL, I AM GETTING MY TREATMENTS! HAS THIS HAPPEN TO ANY ONE YOU KNOW?

Sewer workers: occupational risk for hepatitis C--report of two cases and review of literature.

Abstract
Two sewer workers contracted hepatitis C. The epidemiological literature in which sewer-contaminated water is described as a known vector for outbreaks of hepatitis C, as well as the specific occupational history of the two patients described here, suggest that sewer workers may be at increased risk of contracting hepatitis C.

Personally, I think on some of these exposure type jobs they should run a baseline. One does not know otherwise if one had it before.

Gee, anyone heard about blood in stool? what is raw sewage?
India, many Mexican cities, , all over sewage control is slim to none
I don't have an answer but I am going through same thing myself At work for the city we were fixing a lift station that was coming from the prison here. I w as s cutting the pipe that was broke with a saw saw when the jumped it cut my arm pretty deep right after cutting through fecies. I thought nothing of it since I thought you couldn't get help c from sewer so we cleaned cut and kept on working. Bout a yr or two later I got real sick. Dr told me I have help c. No way I can't have help c. I just got released from prison a couple years prior and they check for every thing hing going in and going out. I was leaning so it had to come from sewer What can I do also
