My immediate family has passed away from various forms of cancer (Leukemia, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, bladder cancer etc....
A year ago, I went in for my yearly mammogram and they asked me to come back - did a sonogram and another mammogram. Said they wanted to use this as a baseline and keep an eye on the area. I went back a few weeks ago for another mammogram and the same thing happened. This time they said they want to do a biopsy. Trying not to overthink it but with my family history it's hard.
One of my concerns is why they didn't take a biopsy a year ago. Is this common? The way they handled it?
What are the statistics on cancer? I don't feel a lump but have had random deep pain for over a year.
