To redhededivy. Just came across this site and will be joining. I have had significant pain in my feet for a number of years; and do have liver disease. I did not connect the two early on. My issues are not plantar fasciitis which definitely is uncomfortable - I have had it but only temporarily, years ago. My pain is in the ball of my feet and through my toes and sides of my feet. The issues in the sides of my feet may be the result of compensation as to how I walked as the other got worse. I have tried several podiatrists, injection treatments, and MLS laser treatments. Each met with some gentle improvement but not a lot. I recently tried acupuncture and that has been met with some positive benefits including reduced swelling. There is also an over-the-counter topical general treatment (feet, back, shoulders) that is a roll-on with 4% lidocaine .... I use the Salonpas brand. It helps me sometimes - typically I apply in the evening and at bedtime as sleeplessness is never helpful! As I understand it, anti-inflammatories may be helpful but harmful with fluid retention. I hope that you find improvement for the sake of being able to be active, get better rest, have less pain and manage one of the issues we face.
