Just anxiety?

two weeks ago, for first time in long time, had protected oral from massese, along with messy hand job and some licking/sucking of testicles. I get regular outbreaks of HSV, but also have history of panicking after this kind encounter but calming down after negative test. a few days later, I masturbated using shampoo for some reason and felt bad stinging next time I peed, but drank some water and it was ok. since then, I am feeling slight stinging from time to time and some general discomfort, causing me major anxiety, and I also have a slight sensitivity in pubic area above penis that feels like hair being pulled on, though when I try to pinpoint a location, there is nothing there. no outward signs of anything wrong.

based on what I've read here, the protected oral had almost zero risk. and based on my own history, I think this is mostly if not all in my head. also, I think I may have some prostate stuff I should figure out (I pee a lot normally, etc).

should I just get the peace of mind test to rule out some STD, or can I really be satisfied that this is mostly mental, maybe with a side of prostatitis? I do have a partner to protect. Thanks for your help, really need some reassurance/advice

You had really minimal risk for an STD, and the STDs that you'd be at risk for wouldn't give you symptoms like this.

You already have genital herpes. If you have genital herpes type 2, it's really unlikely that you'd get genital herpes type 1 after that,  and if you have ghsv1 already, you can't get it again.

Syphilis just gives you a round, painless sore. Syphilis is uncommon in most developed countries, so I wouldn't worry much about that.

I'd guess it's likely anxiety, since your chances of anything are really low.

It could be prostate, but the only way you'll know that is to just get it checked.

Thank you so much.
You're welcome. :)
Hi again, anxiety still hitting hard a few times a day. There is definitely some stingy discomfort at the tip of penis from time to time, but it's hard to say how much that is causing my anxiety vs being caused by it. And I'm sometimes peeing a lot, also mostly in conjunction with anxiety. But still no discharge, no true burning while peeing, etc. I am tempted to get an STD test just to put this behind me once and for all, but my question is: how confident can I be, without testing, that there isn't some issue causing symptoms that could pose a risk to my partner? If risk is low enough, Ill just try to breathe and make a non urgent appointment with a urologist. Thank you again.
So the only STI which cause stinging on the tip of the penis is gono and chlamydia. You 100% dont have that as you used a condom.

You know what else can cause it? Anxiety and constant checking of the penis. Anxiety will also cause you to pee more.

The only risks from this encounter are HSV and syph. You have HSV already so ignore. Syphilis is uncommon is developed countries and a condom doesnt offer you 100% protection from that, it does help a bit. With no painless sore (as AJ mentioned) I would not worry.

If you want to go get tested, go ahead but your results will be negative.
Agree with all of this, and just want to add that since your anxiety is so bad, a therapist would be a great idea.
