Complications after Carotid Endarterectomy

Has anyone experienced damage to the Vargus or Glossopharyngeal nerve and loss of swallowing and gag reflex after carotid endarterectomy surgery?  I am interested in learning more about what treatments you may have had and the results.  TIA
