Syphilis risk?

16 days ago i had mutual oral sex with another male. It was back and forth for around an hour, neither of us really got erections and no ejaculation.

For the past few days ive had a sore throat/issues swallowing and today i have a sore mark in my cheek above a wisdom tooth that regularly bothers me. Its a little painful and fully white with a bit of res above it - not surrounding.

He did not appear to have any chancre or lesions on his penis. I live in the UK, whats the chances this is syphilis?

There is a risk for syphilis from oral sex, but the chances are lower than with vaginal or anal sex.

The sore would appear at the point of infection, so it's unlikely it would be up near your wisdom tooth on the cheek side.

Syphilis is uncommon in most developed countries, like the UK, US, Canada, countries in Europe, etc.

Get your tooth checked out, and if it's concerning you, get a syphilis test now, and at 6 weeks, but my guess is that it's negative.

Okay thank you. A query - what would be the reason for testing now if its not conclusive until 6 weeks?
If you have symptoms now, it should be positive if it's syphilis.

If you are just concerned, it will be conclusive at 6 weeks.
