Hi,
Just a thought - you may want to check out the fibro/CFS forum.  It's an active site for fatigue issues - all kinds of people dealing with it.  I have been diagnosed with both Fribromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue, but it's the fatigue that bothers me more than anything.  I often feel that it's ruining my life - I get laid out in bed feeling like I'm dying from the flu - and then other days I'm fine.  Lovely.

Anyway, I think the recent discovery of the liver hemangioma made me hopeful that it was the culprit.  Something that I could just remove and have all my problems solved.  The fact that you have one and fatigue - I thought - aha!  Docs don't seem to see the hema as a cause - bummer!  I want a cure!  I want to have it taken out just to see . . .

Anyway, your fatigue may be coming from elsewhere.  Funny thing - I was never on an SSRI, but I was put ON Effexor to see if it helped with my fatigue.  It hasn't made a change one way or another.  The only time I've felt a change was with acupuncture - it took 3 months to feel it, but it made a difference.

Maybe you will find relief with your gallbladder surgery, though - I hope that is the case for you.  Fatigue is awful - I pray yours is solved.  You may look to the fatigue forum for support until then . . .
Good luck-

I have a top surgeon in Evansville. Today he was really asking questions and explaining things carefully. He is not worried about the hemangiomas and said he does not believe that is causing the problem of fatigue. I do take an antidepressant, have to for serotonin reuptake. That is one of the side-effects. Effexor for over 2 years now so I donot know. Anyway, I will have surgery for gallbladder on April 11. I will ask him again what he thinks it is for sure. A frien who is a phycian assitant believes it is from the gallbladder discomfort but I have my doubts. Have you had mono anytime? I will get back to you on any info I can get. In the meantime I hope we both get some energy back!! Take care and talk to you later. I will watch your post in case you have any more questions I may be able to answer. Take care one more time,,,,Sandy

I just saw a GI specialist about the hemangiomas - he treated it like a non-issue-weird since I've read stuff about being on birth-control and pregnancy concerns, but he didn't know about that and think it's just fine staying where it is.  Maybe that's good or maybe he just doesn't know(?).  Is a GI guy the end of the line?  Who sent you to your surgeon?  I will be interested to hear what yours says about fatigue - makes life hard, doesn't it?
Take care

hi, I have gallstones and 2 liver hemangiomas, been very tired with it. Are they going to do anything about the hemas? Most say to leave them alone so I donot know. I see my surgeon this afternoon, I will let you know if he knows anything about the fatigue.I am sick of it. I had mono years ago and I wonder if that is part of  the problem. Take care, talk to you later. Sandy

I'd love to know, too, 'cause I've been dx'd with chronic fatigue syndrome x2 years and just got dx'd with "giant" liver hemangioma - have you had a similar experience?
