One Ovary

I have one Ovary and I am very confused regarding fertility and my periods. I thought by having one ovary I would only have a period 1 in 2 months but I have one very month. One month I have a heavy period and the next it is very light but I have a period for about 4 days and then have a break for a week and then start again. The next month I am fine and have a normal period.

I am worried that my Ovary is working over time and my fertility will drop and I wont have as long as a women who has two ovaries. When I has my operation the effects were never explained to me.

Please can you help.

Hi
When you have an ovary removed the other one takes over and does the job just as well!!
It should not affect you,re periods or fertility .

Take care Angie
