Hello, I agree, I think a suboxone is a wonderful medication to get off of other hard opiates. I don't know if I would be here chit-chatting away if it weren't for my Suboxone.
I guess the old saying, Different Strokes For Different Folks. Sending everyone Positive Vibes and prayers.
Yes, it’s a god send for me. I would probably lose another job or be dead without it. There are solutions to all side effects. Many just stop trying to look into it when something doesn’t work. Stop listening to people saying don’t take it. They are not doctors and everyone’s experiences and situations are tbc we are all different. It’s up to you to decide. Not for them to decide for you!
When they sent me to a pain man. they said my options and I just got up and left had never doing oxycontin but having an extremely bad addicts on my wife's side of family this is after about 2 yrs on lorecet/vics to norco.Got to the point I was doing illegal things to my other scripts. Then as usuall my 1st month after my doc made me go I ran out of percs and started snorting oxy.3-80mg p/day and 4 morphine Ir would last 2weeks then I was hunting with sharks, thieves, and had one thing in common our addiction. However at the time I was making 150k per year then I tryed suboxone and was afraid of the methadone situation,so 6 weeks I was off everything. Then came in the RLS and diarrhea everyday, even after 6 months off oxy.eventually at a fam funct. on my wifes side some lorecet was brought out at first I refused then after my wife I took a couple snorts. Also I forgot I sweated underarm so bad I changed shirts 2-4 times everyday. So at first I started just to stop a chronic diarrhea 4.5months OLD along with RLS.Buying them 20 at a time to getting another script was ok til this past Thanksgiving my wife did a roxi with some fam mem. because she was drunk and eventually I got sucked back in.I AM NOT BLAMING MY WIFE.Couple months before script I noticed we had sub. hitting the bars spending anywhere from 20 for a lunch to 3 sitting to a $250 2a.m. party on weekend.I figuered we could SAVE money, lol getting back on the script and assured her I would keep it under control.2 months ago scripts from doc 2 every 4 then internet credit card of 15/80 hydro 300 per month at over$700 then those would get me through when I couldn't get cash from credit card re-fi's and bank loans 5k and 7,500 spent on oxy80mg 5 a day usually 20 at a time.my head has told me every lie and now I am in at least 75,000 debt from 1st 2yrs in pm and last 7 months buying from a "friend" who came thru as long as you bought 4 or more at $80 so he got a free one from the source. He gave me a deal of 75 on 10 then 70 on 20.all the time he was getting them for 65 and less some friend huh.Started suboxone again on Tues. and today is Thurs. although this time I was doing less oxy it has really worked and I figuered out my relapse was due to my receptors not getting to normal before i stopped not wanting to swap one drug for another.Your receptors are like a car battery that won't crank because you have that white build up on them/like oxy on your receptors befor w/d/ then you pull out a file or pocket knife and scrape the crud off/withdrawal/then plug it back on and turn the bolt/suboxone induction/then you crank it and your car starts running/suboxone maintenance.Although your car is running you notice that before it was a jaguar 2008 s-type your fav. color but what you drive now is an 84 pinto with an oil leak so you need to put more oil in/ maybe NA or maybe this forum/next thing you know you realize your car is now a diesel and you have to remind yourself constantly not to put the wrong fuel in that could lock up your engine.HOPE THIS HELPED SOMEONE NEW ON THE RIGHT ROAD.
I was on hydrocodone for 2.5 yrs ish and got on suboxone for two months, slowing reduced, and now I have been free of ALL pills for over a month. It was VERY easy for me, no problems what so ever. Zero withdrawls after I stopped, NONE.
Good Luck,
Rebecca~..~
I am on suboxone and feel no shame for it. You need to do what is best for you so don't listen to us. But don't believe everything someone here tells you. Suboxone is actually easier to come off of then methadone. Anyway if you want more info about it go to www.suboxone.com as well as naabt.com (or it is nabbt.com). Suboxone is working for me. I feel great and have no cravings at all. But don't let people make you think it is like methadone because it isn't.
Also tapering and c/t don't work for everyone. I am leary of people that think it is there way or no other way. Everyone is different and what works for one may not for the other.
I do recommend though fixing the inside. Just getting a pill or getting through w/d's is not enough. You need to learn why you use and then learn skills so when your brain tells you that you need a pill (and it will) you will be able to take control of your brain so you don't relapse. If you don't fix the whole problem you are doomed to relapse. I know cause I relapsed 3x.
I have been on subxone for 3 years and still on it. I have not taken any other opiate, not once, in over one year. First year was shaky. Second, I used other opiates for about one week. And this last year, well, like I said. Not once!
good luck
I have read the site many times before but this is my first time posting. I actually came to post my story and then I happened to see your question.
I ask that you please think twice about taking Suboxone. It is not the miracle drug your Suboxone doctor or the FDA may try and make you think it is. If you are trying to live drug free consider detoxing on whatever it is that you are currently taking. Suboxone is addictive and causes the same withdrawal symptoms as other opiates such as methadone. While your withdrawal may be slightly less severe, there is a good chance it will last longer due to Suboxone's long half-life.
I went through withdrawal previously on hydrocodone and it was nothing compared to the withdrawals I experienced coming off Suboxone. I should mention that I took roughly 80mg of hydrocodone a day and then started taking two tablets of Suboxone a day to get off the hydro.
