120 days clean and sober today

Well MH family I am 120 days clean and sober from my 4 year addicition to opiates. My life is such a complete change from when I was in active addicition. I am and always will be an addicit. But I will never let myself or I should say everyday I pray to the Lord everyday that I will not become an active addcit again.

I love living life again, I haven't been this happy and have such a zest for life, like I have now, in such a long time. Life is a gas man, and it is so worth living sober. So to all that are struggleing, and to those just starting your journey know that there is such a bright and warm light at the end of the tunnel. Stay strong, get help, post here often, if not for my MH family, I would not have made it this far. There are very good and smart and caring people here, I love them all!!!..........brian

Keep it going jolly. Everytime someone like you posts a positive effort on this or the other forum, you inspire others to continue As you will see, each time you post that you have continued to move on some, who have been having trouble trying to stay positive, will be given a much needed boost.  It is posts like these that give a much needed incentive to those who are hesitant. I have stated in the past that I persevered as others have done and completed the mission to sobriety. It is good when someone, anyone, finds themselves moving forward and lets everyone know. The decision to take the plunge into the deep waters of withdrawal by others helped greatly by these positive posts. Tom those who have completed the journey, "Congratulations, great job." To those who are part way through the journey, " Keep it up, it will start to get easier as each day passes." To those who are debating their strength and willpower and have a fear of not making it,"You will never know unless you give it a 100% effort not once, not twice but many times as others have done before they got their feet completely under them and then walked on. You MUST make the effort because when you do and you cross the finish line you will feel even better than you did before you were addicted. Stay well and keep the faith in yourself.

Congratulations!  It is absolutely amazing how much better life is off the opiates.  But even more amazing how those evil drugs make us think they are the only thing that will make us feel better.  The mind games that addiction plays blow me away..still.
