Paula Abdul Finally speaks

Ok, sorry for the dumb posts, but just recently Paula came out and told the truth.  She talked explicitly about her addicton/dependence to opiates, and withdrawal, and also going cold turkey a looooonnng time ago.  Sometimes she still looked messed up....Not lately, though.  We have all been there and it was clearly obvious and wasn't that long ago.

She isn' t a freak or anything she was in denial, like so many others.
Remember she like us must understand it and acknowledge the factshe had
the problem before she can correct it.
She need everyones support prayers and most of all understanding and love.

Hey Girl!!!

I've been telling my partner who is watching Americal Idol...the whole season...for the first time, that Paula acts like she is taking Soma.  My partner, as you know, is now 1 year off that **** and used to act the same way.

I wish Paula the best. She is talented and knows her stuff.  Seems to me like she is not off all the way and is still ashamed.  It happens.  I hope someday she will be clean and well and brave enough to really tell her story and that it will help inspire...and shed some more light on this painful addiction

I love Paula Abdul!  I have heard she has some medical issues that are very private.  I saw a private interview with someone - can't remember who now (old age I guess)!  LOL!!!!  Anyway, I have heard that the medication she takes for her medical issue can cause her to become a little strange.  If she is using, I hope she stops and finds help!  I think she is an amazing person and such a sweetheart!  If she is lurking here, I hope she finds this post and knows that people do care about her and just want to help!

Yeah, well I just heard this morning that she retracted it......How sad.  The magazine sticks by what she said, but she is claiming they somehow altered her words and that she was never "addicted" ok..........after 12 years of use.

Yeah, I remember seeing her in the beginning of Idol and .....wowza!  She seemed pretty jacked up......not lately, though.  She seems to go off & on, or maybe she is just over tired since she also claims to rarely ever sleep?...uh, yeah.

I'm glad she came clean.  It's really nobody's business, but if your in the public microscope........?....Just goes to show you, you can run but you cannot hide addiction.

Good for her for coming clean.  She didn't have to? but, she did.  Any awareness is good prevention.

I heard she detoxed last Thanksgiving at a spa. They played a few old interviews with her yesterday and she was definitely high on something. As I'm typing this.....the news says it was a 12 yr addiction problem.
Maybe we can get her to join the forum.....hmmmmmm...... maybe she is on the forum under a different name.
