I have not posted in ages... I just wanted to pop in and say that Hubby is doing well... after a relapse that has lasted about 6 months, he has not used oxy's in 1 whole week now. His tough days have been Day 2 and Day 3. He always gave up after 48hrs, but now he feels better and is ready to conquer the world again. AND, I have been clean for 11 days now myself, after denying my own habit for months. Things are actually looking up for us now. We're smiling again which is great to see him do, too (cuz' I missed his smile soooooooo much!!).
To everyone who is still struggling, my one piece of advice, is to get MAD at your habit, at the pills (or whatever your DOC is) cuz' once you get MAD at it, you can "beat it to the ground"... once Hubby got super mad at his habit and told it "I'm gonna f***ing beat it to the m-f-ing the ground" that's when he knew he was ready to leave that lifestyle behind, make it past Day 3 and onto Day 5 and then Day 7. You have to want soberness more than anything else in the world. And you have to want it for yourself; not your spouse nor parents, not for a friend nor your pet(s), but for YOURSELF!!
I wish everyone luck as I hope for us, too, that we don't have another relapse.
take care everyone and keep fighting the urge EVERY DAY!!
