First holiday dinner at the compound.....
We had our first holiday dinner at the house. We have done 80% of the work on this house ourselves. The 20 % that we hired contractors for was the plumbing and electric in the kitchen (since the kitchen was a complete remodel ).
First we couldn't use the kitchen outlets because they were sparking and tripping the breaker. Both Magi and I got zapped while putting on the new switch plates.
Then after dinner we went out on the patio for a smoke. While sitting there relaxing ...........water began to pour from the kitchen ceiling and flooded the kitchen. It was gushing from our brand new light fixtures. So much water that it was coming out the patio roof. Guess one of guys forgot to connect the overhead pipe properly. Not sure whats going on with the electric. Well at least if the place starts to burn down the water leak will put it out.

I hired a person to paint what little wood (most is siding) I have..like porch and carport ceilings..I think when this guy tooks breaks(in his truck) he was smoking more than cigs..where he started was good...as the day wore on it got worse and worse..And the dummy I am, didnt go check because I had checked earlier and all was great..Well that fool got paint (white) all over the concrete in carport and back sunporch..all over the bricks.What a mess. I have used everything I know trying to get it off...have got quite a bit off..but that on the bricks is there...I have pressure washed it like 3 times, I'm tearing up the bricks!LOL
I could check and check again and I wouldn't know if you were right.........you might as well be speaking Chinese when talking to me about electricity. lol
After review, it is because there is a phase inversion between the left outlet and the right one. This causes the voltage to lead the current by 90 degrees and thus will either curl the hair in the neither region or vaporize it when you try to plug something in.
Vic......can you rewind the video and let us know whats wrong with the electric? LOL
Are you trying to spoil me? Although I can and have slept in water it was never clean water..... usually that green stuff....I wouldnt know how to act in a clean pool! Is the cement pond available? My first thought here is that you missed a prime chance to establish a commercial ham basting / marinade business! Spread the hams through the kitchen and use honey in the pipes!! Then they will nicely cured by the smoke from the fire..............
Oops, I guess I let the cat out of the bag huh, you know the guy that was putting the camera's in at the cafe? Well........
Vic.............I'm not sure where the ham was in all the commotion. My other sister was in the kitchen when it happened so I think she saved the ham.(how did you know we were having ham ?) lol
I could go on for days about the screw ups.......it seems anything we pay someone to do, they have to do it twice to get it right. You would think the guy we paid to run the cable up in the ceiling would have checked to make sure they were working......nope......now we have had R-30 insulation blown in ........good luck finding the cables.lol He is going to have to put on a space suit and mask and crawl around up there to find it.
We should have had the cameras rolling a month ago.
We are almost done except for the floors............were gonna do them ourselves.

Sounds like you managed to keep a good attitude ! Thats a real test. I would submit that you may want to keep a video camera available. We may end up watching you guys on TV and you would bring home a nice check also. Remodeling shows seem to be quite popular ..... maybe you could do your own version of Remodeling Disasters or something.............
