Hello Everyone! :)
I haven't seen one of these in quite a while so I thought I'd post this as we enter the Holiday Season. I've been increasingly thinking about & practicing Gratitude in the past several months. I've noticed that they effects can be profound in the way we perceive things & they way we feel as we go about our daily lives & in how we relate to others. I've come to believe it's key not only in recovery but in order to live a contented & peaceful life.
Food for thought: What is it that you're grateful for today? Are you able to notice & appreciate the 'small' everyday things in life? The big ones? Can you see the benefit or lessons in some of the negative things that have happened to you?
As I'm sure many here can testify giving thanks for everyday things & to others is a life-changer. It's profoundly healing & rewarding!
Here are some quotes that sum it up:
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Melody Beattie
I write about the power of trying, because I want to be okay with failing. I write about generosity because I battle selfishness. I write about joy because I know sorrow. I write about faith because I almost lost mine, and I know what it is to be broken and in need of redemption. I write about gratitude because I am thankful - for all of it.
Kristin Armstrong
Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.
Zig Ziglar
With an open heart, I want to Thank each & every one of you today, old & new alike. You have touched my life (& therefore helped shape it) in an immeasurably valuable way. I have learned so very much from being here, am deeply Grateful & am the better for it.
Blessings to you all :)
