Great American Hero

I voted for Senator McCain and I honestly wish he was our new President-Elect.  Last night he gave one of the best concession speeches I've ever heard!  He is an honorable man with a big heart and love for this country.  It was evident last night when he stopped the boos and asked those who voted for him to support the new President-Elect. He also offered his support for his new President.  I had already decided I would support Obama, but McCain's speech really inspired people to also support the new President.  I hope his supporters will honor his wishes and that the unity he asked for will be what happens.

I know many of us are disappointed and sad today.  But, the plus side is that last night was a night of great historical moment in America!  We have our first African-American as President.  It shows that racial divides in this country are finally getting under control.  I'm so thankful for that and it has happened in our lifetime - that is an awesome accomplishment!  That does bring a sense of pride to my heart!

So, no matter who you voted for, you can be proud of Americans!

I understand.  I felt the same way when McCain gave that speech last night.  I was saddened and could see the strong man that he is and he was holding back the tears.  He has wanted to represent this country for a long time now.

I agree that people were afraid McCain was another Bush.  I also agree that Obama does not have enough of a record to win.  But, I really want to have hope here.  I am leary and worried, but at the same time - I want to support the President of my country no matter who he is.  I agree, we are lucky to have witnessed this in our lifetime.

I just think that somehow we all have to be the bigger person right now for the very reasons that you mentioned on Naughty's post.  We have to try to bring the country together, but we all have to be willing to do that.

Anyway, that's my opinion for what it's worth!

As I sat there last night and watched the two men give their speeches I really felt something. There is no doubt John McCain loves this country more than anything. I think he would of made a great president. It saddens me that he lost. I just don't think america is becoming united in the way McCain wanted. What I see are people who are voting for Obama for a change of Bush. People are so tired of George Bush that there was no way they were going to vote republican again. I don't think most people who voted for Obama could tell you what one thing is he wants to do other than change. They don't care what the change is as long as it is change. We will now see what Obama is really all about. We don't know what this man has in store for us. He does not have enough of a record to be able to know what he really wants for this country. I will say this, how lucky are we to have all of this take place in our lifetime.

Me and my whole family and friends cried when McCain gave his speech! He is a Great man who deserved to be president. He is an honest, real person! I along with my family members and friends are angry and upset that this man is going to run our country for the next 4 years. Its a shame he won by fraud voting!

Ditto.  McCain gave an excellent speech. There is no doubt he is an American hero.
Between McCain's speech and Obama's .......I felt it in my bones .....our country was uniting, something I hadn't felt since 9/11.  It was an incredible night.

We all share one common bond......WE LOVE OUR COUNTRY !
