Hot pads, dish cloth or dust mop?

Ok, tomorrow is my wifes b-day and I am thinking what to get her. As most of you know I am a practical guy, so the three things I am thinking to choose from of are, hot pads, dish cloth or dust mop. I am not sure I could top the vacuum for Valentines day. So I am setting the bar a little lower. I am finishing up the new flooring 3 of the rooms she wanted too.

Ok, if you are being serious let me suggest to you something I just bought. It is the Shark Steam Mop it's safe on wood floors, ceramic tile etc....it's AWESOME. No chemicals needed (no i don't work for these people i am just a bit of a shopper) and it is easy to use and w/my bad back it's even better.

So here is what I do....I use the dirt devil broomvac to sweep the floor (helps my back also) then I use my steam mop and it's very sanitary b/c of the heat and there is no streaks.

So Vic if you were kidding I am going to feel like a total blonde.....but if you were get her jewelry! However, I am pretty practical and like the mop and stuff myself. My hubby got me 5 hours of massage for Mothers Day. That could be a good one.

She just might like the Shark. So I might raise the bar a little, but jewelry!!!!!!

I do have a massage table and will probably give her one for and hour or so.

I thought I would throw the jewelry out there. I only 2 pieces my wedding ring and my sapphire ring for having a baby. Other than that don't see need in spending money on it.

Seriously if she likes stuff like that the shark is great! It comes w/2 pads and you have to put them in the washer and let them airdry but you don't have to buy replacements or anything. I think you can look at it on like target.com or walmart.com. I paid $80 for it at walmart.

I think you should hide some bubble bath or nice soap in the dish towels or dust mop, just so it's not all about cleaning.  Hugs,  Mary

I keep offering to bubble bath with her, but she thinks I have "other" motives there.  lol

Actually she said she didn't want anything since I am doing the florring, but I know better.

I'm sure whatever you get her she will like. And your right, it's hard to top a vacuum. I just looked at some recently and one was priced over $1000.

well, the Dyson wasn't near that, a little less than half and she still gets excited when she uses it.

Vic,

I hope you are kidding...You can buy her the cleaning stuff but you better get her a personal gift too.
I have two Oreck Vacuums but I didn't want them as gifts. Although that new pink Oreck has my name on it. Anything pink, LOL

If she is telling you she doesn't want anything she is lying. Get her some diamond earrings!!!
Hugs,

I don't even own a working vaccuum now, I'd be happy with a broom from the dollar store...

I am with Cat...I am low maintenance for the most part. But I always get good stuff when it's not a holiday so I am still a little spoiled.

Ok, I promise no mop, but she'd shoot me if I bought her diamonds, trust me there. I have tonight to think about it. Maybe I'll plan on starting the day by heading to work a little late and fixing her breakfast before we both have to leave. At least that would be different and start the day off right.

I think I understand about your wife getting mad if you bought diamonds.  I was the same way.  I'd be really happy with new flooring !  My sister always gets diamonds and jewelry. I always seemed to prefer something for the house.  I would have also killed my husband if he spent over 500 without telling me !  As long as you make it a special day, you should be fine.   The best surprise gift I got from my husband was a sewing machine.
I guess I'm low maintenance too. lol
