We can have a good discussion about school funding. I have spent a lot of time helping our school district get levies passed and had my eyes opened to the unequality that schools face. I think that all schools should get X dollars per student, not the unfair system we have that pays some schools 2 or 3 times more per student that most other schools get only because the students do poorly and have parents that don't care.
Obama does have the right idea, it takes parents that care and work with thier kids to get them to care about learning and for them to do well.
Obama position on who is middle class is not clear and seems to be changing. Is it $150k and above as Biden says, is it $200k as Obama's infomertial said or is it $250k that he keeps saying when it is not $200k?
Why does Obama say that the bottom 95% of tax payers will get a tax cut and then he says the bottom 95% of working people will get money back, even if they don't pay income tax only with holding taxes, in other words they will no longer have to pay the social security tax but have all the benifits?
Why did Obama say that he would take public funding before it looked like he would win the nomination?
He does have some good points, but I think he is saying what people want to hear just to get elected and will change his tune once in office.
Intelligence and education is often denigrated in this country - hence the " My kid beat up your honor student" bumpersticker. Until we start to value and support them, we will continue to lose ground to our foriegn competitors
Lovepat, I agree with you. I don't understand why people fear Obama. Have the people set the bar so low for our presidents, that people have become suspicious and fearful of someone with intelligence, diplomacy and foresight?
What I love is that they leave that stuff anonymously. Wonder why?
