When will this get better

It has been 3 days since my last percocet.  I am having a hard time with the withdrawl effects.  I just want this to be over.  I started taking the pills about a year ago, I never had a script for the pills.  My mom takes them for headaches and I would get one from her here and there untill I found my self getting them off of here everyday.  I was taking about 6 pills a day for about the last 10 months or so.  It does not seem to be getting any better.  I feel so ashamed of my self and what I let the pills do to me and my wonderful life.  I have a great wife, two wonderful childern and am so blessed by god.  I have been praying alot and I know that God will help me through this tough time in my life.  I am having a hard time sleeping at night and the body aches seem to get really bad a night.  I feel so stupid, i will just start crying and just don't understand why.  I feel so alone and sad inside.  When will it start to get better, I don't know were to turn.  Any advice would be greatly welcome.  Thanks.

I don't know what strength you were taking, but the worst of it should just about be over...generally after 5 days one starts feeling better.  Search the forum here for the "Thomas Recipe" which can help with the effects, or if you can see your doctor see if you can get clonidine, a blood pressure med that helps with the symptoms as well.  I understand that since you haven't been getting these from a doctor that might be difficult.

Don't be ashamed..we all do the same thing at some point..you've done the right thing trying to quit..the crying part is part of the withdrawl.

Stay in touch with us here, there are plenty of people who can help

Best of luck

Hi,

I know day 3 is hard but it will get better. Youa re close to being done with the physical part. Try to hang in there. If you have any questions or need help, post on the Subsstance Abuse forum. You'll get a lot of support there.

hey my husband and I have been on hydrocodone/percs for the past year and today is our first day sober...we are having a really hard time with the withdrawls. Please message me and maybe we can help each other. It's really nice to know there are other people going through the same thing I am right now.

I truly understand what you are going through i have ocd which stands for (obsession compulsive disorder) and i would take 30 mg at least 2-3 a day because it would make my ocd go away but only for the short time they last then when i stopped taking i fell into a deep depression i had diahrea body aches, sweats everything i felt so alone and it would make my ocd symptoms come back even worse ....it was TERRIBLE all i wanted to do all day was sleep and lay in the bed ...my advise to those out there is to STAY AWAY  they are truly dangerous taking them prescribed or not and i will never touch another one in my life.
