So I am now a prisoner in my own house due to my past, I had committed crimes in 2006 in my active addiction and finally now I got sentenced to 8 months house arrest, I took my first yr cake wanted lol ..no wonder I got loaded. I am sharing this so maybe it will help somebody to be honest ...thank god I made it back alive and got another chance to wipe the slate clean,as well as grow in recovery (life is great)!
I can choose to live in self pity, unacceptance or just plain miserable but I have found a different way of life and today I know the dangers of living in those self imposed prisons!
I want to thank each and everyone of you for posting it keeps me connected and  feel part of something that is so big ....ppl one day at a time ,reaching out , living a new way. sharing good and sad...all these things help me blessings j34

i agree 100% with what mangee has said.... it takes a strong spirit and a good soul to grow a better self after some mistakes and  you can held your head up and look people in the eyes now.... I hope you will find something to enjoy this time at home, maybe a new hobby ? :) look at this as a chance of learning something you always wanted to ;)

Sometimes it takes a while to realize that we are all fallible. No one on this earth can walk the straight line without errors here and there. To suddenly realize that we have come to a crossroads and to have to make a life time decision is not easy. How we look at ourselves after we make some mistakes and decide to measure them against the rest of our lives is what makes us or breaks us. You, j34, have changed the path you were walking and started on a new one. Don't look back. It will not be easy because life never really is but if you are sincere you have won half the battle. The new you is something to be proud of and you can walk with your head held high and look people in the eye without a shred of guilt. Think of yourself as the,"New me."
