Oh what a night!

Last night I looked after the couple that lost their toddler in the Tsunami...
I feel so grateful to be home and know that my family is safe and well... how we take so many things for granted and when we put it all into perspective it makes our worries and troubles seem so insignificant...
My heart goes out to them as they embark on facing life without their little boy :o(

Seeing and talking to this couple I can definitely say they would never want to go through this again...their little boy and only child was ripped from their arms by the tsunami and they can't find him now so there will be no 'funeral' just a memorial. In all my years of nursing in the ER I have looked tragedy in the eye but none so great as last night.

I lost my firstborn son at the age of six months, after being trained in dialysis and tube feeding him and dialysing him 4 times per day ............  I would gladly go through all of that again in New York minute.........  Do not ever say "I dont see how things could possibly get worse....." - -   Things can always get worse.......

How horrible...losing a child is bad enough...but a young child? couldn't do it...
