took 2 X 2.5 mg bars on Xnax last nite...Slept for 11 hrs....Feel groggy, spaced out, but I think that it is better than the alternative, which is rockin and rolling in bed until 4 AM and sleeping til 5:30 AM....Sure you know that one...Ultimately, I detest Xanax for anything else but this extreme situation....I've tossed more Xanax down the toilet in my life than probably anyone because, if taken during the day, it turns me into a zombie....Right now, I'm trying to get the other poisons out of my system, and if sleeping for 12 hrs. accelerates that process, I am in big time...
50mgs-300mgs of trazadone, is what is used at our detox for sleep
feel better soon
Clonidine works pretty well it seems if you can get a Rx for it...
I went through withdrawal of oxy cold turkey. Sleep didn't come easy. I finally started **** excercises and then took Zopiclone which my doctor prescribed. It is good in the short term with minimal relief but is also an addictive drug if taken for an extended period. When I found out it was addictive I changed to an over the counter drug, Nytol. This gave me some relief but was not the panacea I was looking for. Nytol will let you nap a little but not much but then anything is better than nothing. Here is a suggestion. Your eyes will get glassy and feel like they are filled with sand. Take a face cloth, wet it with very warm water and hold it over your eyes for ten seconds at a time. Do this three times and about twice a day.

warm / hot showers - baths before bed. Melatonin. Meditation. Other RX sleep aids. Exercise earlier in the day.
You can try taking 2 Benadryl. Sleep is one of the biggest issues in detox. I know it's awful. Hang in there it takes time, but eventually you will be able to sleep again.
