There Goes The Neighborhood

I arrived at my daughter's house this morning and a swat team, news crew, and lots of cop cars were at a house a couple of doors down. All this happened outside my new granddaughter's bedroom window. Then the Homicide unit came after they took the perp away. Lovely.

It turns out that after investigating an assault at a bar a few miles away they found the perp and stormed his house. My daughter heard gunshot and if you watch the video you can see the swat team firing off something. I'm thinking it was tear gas. The news reporter is a friend of my daughter's, so she'll probably get more info later.
This is an otherwise quiet neighborhood. I thought it was a drug raid at first, then when I saw the Homicide Unit's bus I figured it was worse. Nobody was killed though, the HU was just there helping to investigate.

I'm glad they got the guy without anyone else getting hurt. This kid looks so young! What a shame. It was probably drug related somehow, the cops were hauling stuff out onto tarps in the front yard for hours afterward.
