my vote in Tennessee, come on down, we'll go boating, fishing, swimming etc...all those summer fun's and Tennessee has the best BBQ...lol you have to eat it w/ cole slaw on it but it is to die for....
my momma lives in Tennessee..just about 45 min north of Memphis. I love the mountains..and actually i did get a little mini vaca last summer when i went to Kentucky Lake..that was great..but hotter than hades and I didn't care too much for the water moccasins..lol.I am planning on visiting my mom soon..I'll have to look you up..
I am 96 miles north of Memphis, where Tn,Ky and Mo all met together on the map...We don't really have that many snakes, I haven't seen any alive one so far...lol
wow..you are right by my mom..she's about 30 minutes to Caruthersville Mo..Thats where my grandparents live..my mom is in Dyersburg..so you are very very close..and i know my way around there pretty good..lol
How about Elwood, IL?? LOL! not much to do here but downtown Chicago is 45 minutes away! Fun stuff there.
NYC is awesome to. I had a blast!
Hi Jen..i used to live in Chicago..i loved it.but too amny people..lol I had Tanya in Waukegan..at Great Lakes Naval base..
The ocean is always nice.
I am afraid of water..lol..i want to hear about everyones states..so far I have been to:
Arizona
Colorado
Tennessee
Kentucky
Florida
Illinois
Indiana
Wisconsin
South Carolina
Georgia
Missouri
I love South Carolina and North Carolina, they are so close to MI for a short vacation, but I see you've already been there and you dont' care for the water......so may I suggest Georgia....Savannah in particular. It is a little bit of a drive, but put some tunes on and and have some good laughs and conversations with the kids (we like to play little games like I spy and to count different license plates and colors of other cars to pass the time) The southern hospitality is great, the architecture is amazing and there are so many old plantation homes you get to see. The food is to die for too!
I've been there twice on vacation and would recommend it to anyone.
Have fun!
Thanks...I actually haven't spent too much time in the Carolinas..just a night or 2..I like looking at the water but thats about all.lol..
I have wanted to see the plantations..I heard that you can visit where they filmed Gone with the wind somewhere around there..and then my mom told me about this old plantation hotel that have the 100's of yrs old cypress trees..sounds good..I am going on this vaca by myself..no kids allowed..lol
How about New England ? It's so pretty in the fall. I'm in Florida but just love New England.
I have always wanted to go to the New England states..there are sooo many places..lol I never have to step foot off American soil..(been to Canada though)lol
i use to live in MI and one summer we did a road trip to BarHarbor, Maine. It was an awesome ride through the White MOuntains in Vermont and New Hamspire. We stayed in New Hampshire a couple of nights and did some great hiking. Phenominal veiws and some of the best water you will ever taste.
Maine was also gorgeous! Bar Harbor is where the ocean and the mountains meet. crashing waves against the cliffs- totally awesome. Also you will have the best lobster dinner ever and only like $10. i also don't like the water, but if you can get the courage up (like i did) you can go whale watching. They are pretty big ships and if you take the dramenine it will be pretty smooth. If you have never seen the whales before , it something else. also dolpins and other stuff.
there are some really cool national parks there too. and BarHarbor town is a lot of fun.
Have you been to Sedona in Arizona?
It is by far the coolest, most beautiful place i have seen yet.
There is an awesome drive through mountains on the 179 going from Sedona towards the Grand Canyon. a must!
or if you fly, there is so much to see and do in Sedona you will have to plan ahead.
Here is my thoughts!!!!! Northern Minnesota is beautiful. Duluth is really nice. Why not come and pick me up and i will give you directions!!!!!! Or we can get the map out, close our eyes and point and wherever we pick we go???!!!!!! I guess i have just invited myself along!!!!
I live 32 miles from Dyersburg, in a little town called Hornbeak...
I wonder if she knows we are going along!!!!! May have to get an RV!!!!!!!
We are off to the black hills!!!!!!! You would love it.
I am on bored ladies...lets go...

Never been to the East so I really want to go to NY on November I can't wait.
I wished we could take a vacation and soon. My oldest (16) is a finalist in a state jr. miss scholarship program and we leave friday to go to the program. she is competing for the state title. She has been gone for a week preparing and I can't wait to see her on Saturday.
I vote for Alaska; you can walk on a lot of the water there, and I hear it is beautiful. My niece lives there and I'm going to visit her if I ever get caught up at work.....or in six years when I retire, which ever comes first.....
My dad used to teach winter survival in Alaska for the army. They would camp on a glacier for 2 weeks. he loved it and the pics were breathtaking.
