Was it a bad reaction?

A few days ago I was with a group of friends. Two of them are my really close friends, and the others I had never met before but they were good friends of my two friends. We went over one of their houses and they were all smoking weed. I had never tried it before, but I was curious so I did. I took my first "hit" and couldn't stop coughing, after a minute though I was fine and feeling okay. They handed it to me a second time and I took a second, bigger hit. After that I couldn't stop coughing and there were moments where I couldn't breath. I started hypervetalating a little so i went into the bathroom to make sure I didn't throw up. I drank water alot to keep myself from throwing up, but afterward I was shaking and sweating and could barely walk. I was shaking pretty bad for a good while. Was I allergic? Some people say it was an overdose?

The others had no problems, so i'm sure it wasn't laced.
I know that I will never do it again, and there was about 30 minutes when I was scared that I might pass out or something.I felt like I was dying. It was not a good feeling, and I don't get what other people feel when they get "high".

The best friend of my boys had this reaction and so did my sister.  Shaking, coughing, paranoia...Better to avoid.  Not sure what people see in pot.  Did it a few times as a teen and then not until I this past year to treat the worst migrains I had in my life.  It helped with the migraines, but I hope I dont have to use it again.  Just dont understand why some people like it so much...I get that it can be used for good.  (Like my cousin put some in brownies when my aunt had breast cancer and was sick from chemo and it helped her pain and helped her eat).  Its just too bad it can be so abused.

I hate smoking grass that is why I am so amazed at y I actually smoked that mess when I was a teen. It always made me freak out and I contribute that to the chemical reaction to my physical make up it just don't mix well with me either. Consider yourself lucky as the people who love that stuff can seem to smoke forever and just kind of veg out and not quit. My addiction always ends up in chaos so I have to face total despair and want to quit that mess. If I was ok with it I would probably just end up like the long time smokers I know just doing nothing and loving it....

Pot burns at a much higher temperature than cigarettes. If you've never smoked before, it's possible that the extended coughing fit set off a panic reaction, or caused you to physically overstress your respitory system, causing the reaction you got.

I had a similar reaction once from a severe allergy attack (I cough, instead of sneezing).

Continuous violent coughing can cause you to actually damage the throat leading to blood/ spotting.

I would say you have a low tolerance for harsh inhalants that are at a high temperature. Best to avoid that in the future!

Oh, it is possibl that it WAS laced with something you had a bad reaction to that the others didn't. It is common for added ingredients to be added to street drugs for anumber of reasons.

That's for your input. I have been told so many different things. From it's just because it was your first time, to you had to much, to your allergic.
