Thank you all for your insights. I agree with hellc@mst, self-accountability really matters regardless of your choice. But I read an article at sober.com that explains the importance of entering a treatment center. It helps you learn the refusal technique, plus the 12-steps. I guess, complete package really matters.
Eish, neither worked out for me. It wasnt until I turned my back on the aforementioned options before I achieved any worthwhile sobriety. I have found self-accountability, will power and trust in my ability to do the right thing enough of an impetus to maintain my current drug free status.

3 years 9 months drug and alcohol free
I tried to get into a rehab but was turned away. I detoxed with the help of friends, enrolled in an IOP and went to mtgs. I still go to mtgs and stay active in AA. I have a sponsor and I sponsor others. For me it's not so much about where I go it's about what I do with the stuff I learn from being where I'm at.
It all depends on the person. What do you think is best for you?
