good god  its -6 below zero out right now! but hey at least our blizzard has been cancelled! last i heard we are only to get 3-4 inches of snow today (with 40+ mph winds- blowing/drifting snow and windchills around -20 below!-- ALLLLRIGHT!! WOOOOHOOO  ) LOL  if they dont close school for some odd reason today I am NOT driving my 5 yr old to school in these horrendous conditions, you can forget it! Momma says school is closed today lol.   Last night the kids and I all slept in one room- the living room where there are two new baseboard heaters cranked up. the boys slept on a huge air matress on the floor and i slept on the couch right next to them, and the dog curled up on the floor (on his own personal blankie) right next to the kids, guarding them.  (have i mentioned how insanely protective he is of the kids?? god have mercy on anyone who thinks of laying a hand on them! This dog even chews on my arm when I pretend Im grabbing/taking/hurting the kids! he loves them so much!)

It was nice and cozy (still is for them, Im only one up at 4 a.m. lol) I also turned the oven on to warm it up more. Gonna bake me a dark chocolate fudge cake, yes I am! then later a nice golden Mac N Cheese casserole too, and whatever else i can think of to bake today!

Here in Manitoba, Canada the temperature was 36 degrees below zero with a windchill of 49 degree this past week. The past two days have given us some relief with temperatures rising today to 6 degrees below zero. As for the sasquatchian screamer, that is a play on the sasquatch and the province of Saskatchewan. Here in Canada it is a contest betwen sasquatch sightings and ufo's. Can you imagine what an alien would take back to his planet if the first being he saw here was a sasquatch? " The people on that green planet are all covered with hair and don't wear any clothes and they are always hiding from each other. It's not worth wasting our time on. We just have to let them evolve for a few thousand more years until they are worth our attention."

This same discussion was elsewhere earlier...and it was up around 70 here in central valley cali (think laci peterson) and I really did cruise in a tshirt and flipflops (can't call em thongs anymore)...and I pray for rain here too for we are in a sever draught and will burn this summer if we don't get wet...

hey sarah- i heard a new term today. the weather man said the storm we are due to get Saturday (3-6 inches) is NOT an Alberta Clipper because its coming down from a different provence of canada. He said this storm is called a Sasquatchian Screamer, lmao. I kid you not thats exactly what he said. Thats a new one for me, LOL.  Ever hear of that term up your way?

It's 26 degrees right now, but it's getting colder and it FEELS colder than 26.  It was flurrying earlier gigantic flakes the likes of which I have never seen before.  I'm glad to be inside.  Stay warm peeps!

I feel your pain too guys......It was a freezing 60 degrees this morning here in California.  I think its suppose to get up to a chilly 78 today......far cry from the 86 we've been having the past few days........I have my snuggie and hot tea on stand by.

I would love to see some snow....what a treat for you guys.......we are shaving ice here pretending its winter.........

Today is one of the coldest days of the year here, it's -20, but we don't use the same temps as U.S so i always have to translate it. 32 farenheit is 0 celcius here. So i think today it would be about -5 in farenheit, the same as our -20 celsius. Anyone confused, lol.

I feel your pain!  I'm in Michigan and it's FREEZING.  -27 below with wind chill this morning on my way to work...    oh, more snow today and another big one on Saturday.  I had to build my dog an igloo in the backyard as her private bathroom  lol...    this is ungodly!

4th day of record highs here 85* clear and sunny....sorry. no, really, i am sorry. although you can't find prettier or better weather than here right now, we haven't had any winter of any kind.... :(

The cold front that came threw Florida helped my migraine, so for once I'm glad it's cold. I slept with the windows open.
I don't know how everyone up north does it. If I turn the heat on just once, for a while, my sinuses get clogged, bloody nose etc. I can't imagine having the heat on for months at a time!

Magi and I have been working non-stop on the new house. I'll take some pictures, so everyone can see before and after.
