Thanks for all the Atta-girls: Yes, I feel great about it, both physically and mentally. I have never met a smoker that didn't want to quit. One of the things that really helped me was realizing that quitting smoking is a "process" and that the people who at least TRY to quit are the ones who WILL eventually be successful at quitting. I quit about 100 times... not kidding, but there was a point where I had to put my foot down and make the commitment. For me, it wasn't just boom I’m done, I’m not good at the cold turkey method -- I did several things to quit -- along with using the patch, I read this little book called "if only I could quit” on nicotine addiction (till the cover fell off), I had to eat healthy food, drank lots of h20 & juice, I exercised when I could and did NOT hang out with other smokers.
Good luck to all who quit, it's difficult, but I’m telling you if I can do it you can do it.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe one day I can to :-)

I wish I could quit smoking too! With the prices the way they are and the way they make me feel you would think that would help me,but it sadly doesn't.My husband hates it and lectures me on it daily.I hope once I get over this opiate addiction I can stop smoking. One addiction at a time I guess.Congrats on one year that is so great!Keep up the good work.
I AM JEALOUS, lol. Congrats on a year smoke free. I have never really put a real effort into trying to quit and I keep saying i will. SOON. Way to go, i bet you feel so much healthier.
That is AWESOME!!! I wish I could say the same. My 7 yr old son made me a "deal" last night which broke my heart. He said he had a discussion with my dad about me smoking and how he wishes I would stop. He said that my dad told him that he would give me $250 if I didn't smoke for 6 months. After my son tells me this "deal" he goes through my drawers where I stash my cigs and takes every pack out and says he's going to hide them from me. Then he says, "You're going to tear up the house looking for these aren't you?" I said "Probably!" I want to stop and have quit in the past with my pregnancies, but like an idiot picked it right back up! GRRRR!!!
