Going off xanax
I have been on .05 xanax for about five yrs, what is the best way to taper off?
I think you mean .50, not .05. I am on an even smaller dose, .25, but try to skip days to lessen dependence. If I wanted to get off it, I would speak to my doctor.
We're not allowed to give taper information on this forum, but I can say "very slowly". My personal experience is with Ambien. It took me 4 months to taper off of 10MG. Ambien uses the same receptors that Zanax uses. If you have a doctor prescribing Xanax for you he/she will give you the information necessary to accomplish a safe taper.
