am i still welcome

Hello all. I am still fairly new to the site and I pray I am still welcome. I am so embarrassed and confused that I really don't know where to begin but here it is. I have been taking 15 10/500 vicodins a day. I found thiS site several weeks ago.  I spoke with some of the most caring people I've ever met then received. Lots of information and instruction on how to quit and so I set a day to quit this only lasted two days.  And then sadly I gave up when withdrawals hit. I feel like I let everyone down and wasted lots of really good peoples time and help so that's the reason I'm reluctant in coming back but I really do need the help so please forgive me. I hAve set tomorrow as my quit date . I want my life back and want to live again.

If you read back on post which go back years, you would see most of us are "retreads" I used after 14 days and went back into wds. But I was welcomed back and told never be ashamed to come back .  That would be another lie we tell ourselves so we continue to use.  But I'm glad you are here, congrats on your decision

Of course you are welcome sweetie.  We are always here through the good and the bad.  You have to REALLY want to quit in order to get this done.  I was taking 20-30 lortabs 10 a day and here I am alive and kicking on day 5.  You can do this.  With our help and support you will achieve the unimanageable.  Keep posting to let us know how you are doing.  Hang in there.  You willl and can do this!!!

My reason for wanting to know why someone really wants to quit is to see what the individual's motivatiuon is. Some poeple are forced into getting help norder to avoid jail time whle others such as most of the people here reallly want to get better to help themselves. An addict who truly wants to get help stand the best chance of a successful reccovery in the long haul.

Knowing a person's motivation for geting better will also allow those who may be able to help them in their recovery efforts.  God bless all of those people who struggle with addictive behavior as well as their family members.

Why does he has to explain the reason he wants to quit he has pretty much said it he wants his life back that is enough for us.

Of course you are still welcome on this site. A recovery process may have several starts and stops associated with it. Ideally once a person decides to begin a recovery process they continue it without any back sliding. We are human so back sliding does happen in some cases.

I am not an expert but I was raised in a household where both of my parents practiced addictive behavior. I have an insight into how addiction impacts people's lives and how addcist live their lives.

The big questuon to ask yourself is why you want to get better? The answer to this will provide me insight behind the motivation behind your deceison to begin the recovery process. I have a passion to help those who desire to want to undergo the receovery process. Just let me know if you would like my help.

Of course you are welcome here.  Please dont ever feel that you arent.  You arent the first person to relapse and wont be the last.  We will be here to support you but you know you have to do the hard work.  WD is no fun but you can and will get thru this.  What are you going to do differently this time?  Do you take any supplements?  Aftercare is very very important to our recovery.  Please think about that.  Now put those thoughts away about the forum and think positive!!!  You are going to be starting the first day of the rest of your life!!  How exciting is that!!!        sara
