Hey, done. Even thought you didn't use for that long, rest assured taking 40 mgs of oxy at the beginning of your habit isn't tiny. Glad you stopped now. After a week, you are past the acute phase, so energy, sleep etc will come back in inches. It's not linear, one day you might feel fine, then you may feel like crap the next day. You just have to have patience and go thru it. At this point, your symptoms will be getting better.
Did you cut all your sources? I strongly suggest you get some aftercare. Non addicts don't take daily opiates. Once we remove the drugs, we have our addicts brains to deal with. And the problems and perspectives we have in life don't clear up by themselves.
A week to 10 days of withdrawals. The first 3 - 5 days are the worst. Another month of lethargy and depression. You should consider some form of aftercare at that point. If you have any other questions you can message me or post them here. You're making the right choice. Opiate abuse is simply not sustainable. It's a tough gig for a few weeks but anyone who's quit will tell you it's worth every bit of discomfort to get clean and be free from being tied to these damn pills.
Hello & Welcome to our Community!
You got some great advise from the above. Time is what it will take and for some it took more then others. I always called it stages you might go through. These types of meds, changes both Body and the Chemical makeup of the Brain. The readjustment of the brain Chems is what will take a bit longer, however, you are very lucky you caught it sooner then later. Make sure you drink tons of water and add some packet vit/min to the water. Got to flush these meds out and build up a good immune system too.
Stick around here for Support and also you can support others along the way. The detox is the easy part, and YES it is uncomfortable, but working on staying clean, is what takes some working at and many changes. Try some of those AA/NA meetings too. You will really be surprised how much you can pick up. Wishing you the best and have a Merry Christmas!
Bless
Vickie
Thanks all for the advice. Because Ive oretty much gotten through the heartache and pain of this breakup i think at least hope to be able to put the rest of my life back on track. It was with her that I started taking the percs and vics pretty regularly because of her past connections and ease to get a hold of. She had problems in the past with this and I facilitated her addiction and found myself ending up in the same mess. I tried this about a month ago and from the first day till the 4th or 5th was really bad like a terrible flu. Bought one more batch of 25 oxys went through those and tapered off with 2 7.5 vics a day after. Been a couple days clean now and seems a lot less painfull other than the lrs at night drives me nuts. IDK what the future holds but I have high hopes and feel strong about this. Having people like you to advise and lend support will surely help. Hate dragging that bottle around always wondering when its gonna run dry. I think I will look into the NA meetings. Thing I dont understand is why doctors are prescribing drugs to help people beat addiction and only end up causing another problem. Thats why I chose to go without the clinics. Just dont need more of the same. Thanks again to all of you and I will definitley keep you posted.
the restless leg is what bugged me the most. a lot of people on here suggested hylands restful legs (OTC) but by the time I found it, my symptoms were staring to go away. You might want to try them. I found them at walgreens. I started to feel a noticeable difference around day 5 or 6. And as hard as it was with the fatigue, make yourself get outside and walk as much as you can. It'll help.
