Trying to quit percocets c/t

I've only been using on a regular basis for about 3-4 months now usually 3-4 greens a day (10mg). I'm trying to stop cold turkey and just needed a outlet to tell someone. I'm 24 and married but afraid to tell my wife as I'm afraid shell leave me. The depression and 4 hours a sleep at night is killing me. I don't want any other prescriptions to take to ween me off I just want to stop and stop for good I made it a day and a half before taking a quarter of a pill just to feel normal. I flushed the rest I had. I've been getting them off the streets and started cuz friends where doing it. Sorry to ramble but again just wanted it off my chest and was looking I see if anyone has done them for a short time like me. When did you get a full nights sleep again?

Hi there :) good job! Keep reaching our for support...the physical stuff will pass but the mental aspect of it, as Gnarly and others have mentioned, usually hangs around a bit longer...even if your length of use was fairly short.

Try Imodium it does wonders, not only for tummy issues, but for sleep, restless legs, and other things (I've found).

Almost 6pm here where I'm from on day 3. Last time I took a full perk was Saturday around 1:00pm. Feeling alot better today I'm seeing that light. Laughing with people at work and joking around. It's me again almost. Just my ankles kill from the rls. Ill deal with it potassium supplements is really help stop them twitching but they are just so sore. Well hopefully tonight my goal is 4 hours straight sleep. I hope.  Never ever going down this road again I can promise my self and everyone else who's helped me that I'm good done. Day 3 was the hardest morning but easiest afternoon by far. Feels great to be me today!!!!

Here I am wide awake at 1am went to bed at 11 pm tired as all hell late in the day I felt great. I'm not going back to the pills I'm not even craving them by now and it's night 2 for me. Just wish I could sleep. Thank you everyone for so much help I talked with my best friend who's been a year and a half clean he's helping me through it. Felt great to get it off my chest to someone I knew. Thank you all for the support and help. I greatly appreciate it. Good luck to everyone and their journey to sobriety.

Hi You got some Hot information above..I want to just say that the Mangnz helps with sleep and is a good detoxer..I also took it with the ds, & cals..Maybe pick up some Melatonin..It is a natural sleep aid..You will just have to try it all maybe to see which one helps..LeaAnn gave you some good tips too..Take some warm Epsom salt baths and make sure you stay away from all Stimulants..Turn the TV off and have a dark cool room..Good Luck this here will pass..It takes time to balance back...Min by min it you can do it..Just hang tight...

Sounds like you're way ahead of what most of us did!  SO FAR!  What you have to do is make sure this is your only and last detox, and it won't be that bad.  Don't think that by getting off easy you will next time, if there is a next time.  It would get worse each time you went back to it until eventually you'd be as sick as some of the rest of us!  I never had a time that I didn't have bad WDs, so you're SO fortunate!!!  What you need to do is find some outside support like NA or a counselor.  NA may be better, because you would probably have to tell your family in order to do that.  NA would just be a meeting and they have them all day long.  Or if you go to church, some counseling with your pastor.  ANYthing to make this your last time.  I want to see you succeed the first time, so you never have to go through what I did.  It does NOT get easier than what you're experiencing now.  The sleep will be probably the last thing to return to normal, but you're not really having any other symptoms, right?  A decent night's sleep may be a week or a month away, but don't take pills to fix that, or you'll be starting all over again.  Try some Alteril.  Don't take Tylenol PM or Benadryl.  Nyquil helped me.  Like one dose.  Not half the bottle! :)

You can do this!  I'll be cheering for ya!

Thank you Lilly means a lot to hear that. The anixety hasn't been a problem knock on wood. I mean I do get a little sad about what I've done to my self but I can live with that. I think the burden of keeping it a secret is what makes it hard. Oh well here's to sobriety and a better life for me and my family and hopefully by the end of the week a full nights sleep.

Hello and Welcome
You got a lot of good advice above.
It does last only about 4 days then each day gets better from there
Some people do better then others do
You may he better in few day or few weeks
My WD from Oxycontin was 4 days but sleep is the last thing to come back
I tried everything an was so tired but just couldn't go to sleep then one nite about 3-4 weeks later I was sleeping 5-6 hours. I still have some RLS but I have that anyway

Hang in there you only have a couple more days to go an it will start to get better front here
Yes get some nutrition drinks like Ensure and drink pleanty of fluids do you flush out hot system quicker an stay hydrated
I lived on GatorAid and Vitawater (Revive puncch flavor it has all the B vitaminsnyou need
I also Te lots of bananas for the restless legs arms an body
Take hot baths to help aches pains RLS and relax you to help you sleep

If you need to talk I'm here for support please feel free to Pm me anytime
I'm always on an off here traveling in a truck all the time

Your smart to do this now before it gets our of hand
I WD in an 18 wheeler on the road
I know You Can Do This

Hey Friend!
Congrats! you are smarter then your average bear by realizing this now before you are in deep, like I was.
you can do this, won't be easy, but ease=ier by a million if you leave it go on.

Get immodium ad and some ensure for when you can't eat. You want to stay hydrated and take vitamins.

This will last about a week, the worst about the first 4 days or so. It's different for everyone. Stay the course, stay strong, This is one thing in your life that  you must just tough out and be strong for, and in the end you will be so proud of yourself, I mean big time.

after the physical stuff is done you will feel the mental stuff for a little while, just hang in, that terrible anxiety GOES AWAY. I say that because I want you to know it when you feel it so you don't think, omg this won't go away, like I did, cause it GOEAS AWAY. can I stress that enough.
hang in there friend, I am proud of you! you can do this!!

hugs,
Lily

I have seen people on here recommend sleepy time tea before.  But I am during the process of finishing, sleep is going to be the last thing that becomes right again.

Your doing great though, just stick it out.  It will be totally worth it in the end!
